The benefits of the antique glass knobs for doors are as many as there are door types! They instantly add a rustic and aged appeal to the door. In fact, fit one a door that is yet to be painted and upgraded and you have a masterpiece! For those who love the Victorian and Gregorian era decor, the antique glass door knobs are a must-have. They can be fitted on the main door of the home or office or just about any enclosure that is designed for safekeeping and privacy.
Dark door knobs are also applicable with partial overlay door style. The covered area of the cabinet is what you call the overlay part while the exposed part is the reveal area. Door style with partial overlay has a 1-inch of reveal area. Among all other types of designs this is the most common style. Another design is the full overlay door. This style, on the other hand, uses the whole reveal area. This is commonly found in frameless cabinets but there are also those found with framed cabinets. The hinges for this style is covered and there is still need for knobs.
Wholesale door knobs are available for different purposes such as passage, privacy etc. Dummy door knobs are also available, which are non-functioning and are used on closets and French doors. The passage knobs are non-locking, working knob sets and the privacy knobs have a push stem on the rosette and are usually used in bathrooms and bedrooms as they need to be locked. Ornamented and magnificent door knobs are available in wholesale shops in different models.
You can even find designer door knobs these days, if you are all about fashion. Some are hand made of stone, glass and other materials. If you want to go classy, glass door knobs are very beautiful. They can look like gems shining from a treasure hold if they are put in the right room with the right lighting. One thing to note about glass door knobs is that, they are not recommended for the outside doors to your home, as they are more fragile than other knobs and may not react well to the changes in temperatures. They also will be getting a lot more wear and tear on an outside door and may not be strong enough to handle it.
Interior door knobs are available in four primary styles; privacy, passage, double dummy and single dummy. Privacy and passage knobs turn and operate a latch mechanism - the difference is privacy style knobs have a push pin lock (these are generally used on bathrooms or bedrooms). Single dummy and double dummy knobs do not turn or operate a latch mechanism - a single dummy knob is one knob on the exterior side of the door while a double dummy is a knob on either side of one door. Note: Most double dummy knobs cannot be used on two separate doors.
