Door Handles. Monday , November 27th , 2017 - 02:30:48 AM
Door handles have become like fashion statements at the top end of the market, as some variations come in intricate and ornate designs to add glitz and glamor to the over-all look of your home. While retaining its main functionality of opening and closing doors, variations in handle design often come in relation to particular needs and requirements such as: for nursery rooms, handles sometimes come in cheerful cartoon designs; for kitchen doors, some have fruit embellishments; for a girls room, pink handles are also available. These are fancy handles: but for permanent and lasting use, most homes use the more versatile materials such as brass and metal handles, which can withstand repeated use, and can adapt to most household interiors.
The Nimbus is a completely different style from the Monet, and this shows most clearly in the handle, which is designed rather in the shape of a hairbrush, with a large extending shaft which is connected to the spindle inside the door, and then a rounded lever designed to be used to open the door. This rounded edge is covered with a different colour metal, intended to show off the different stages of the design. The lever is carefully made to ensure the most comfort possible to the user. This design appears in colours of brushed nickel with a polished chrome edge.
While different types of door handles are designed with unique components, the average handle has basic components. For instance, in addition to the knob top, which is the large knob that you would actually grab hold of to turn, handles are made with a spindle, shank, and knob rose. The knob rose is a round washer or plate used to form a socket. This piece is adapted so it can be attached to the actual door. Then, there is that spindle, which is the thin piece to which the handle attaches. The shank is the stem that projects from the door handle. Within the shank is a hole in which the spindle would be placed. For functionality, the door handle would be attached so the metal shaft can turn the latch to open the door.
